History
Marigold, Common Introduced by monks from Southern Europe, where the capitulum, as far back as antiquity, was used by doctors to heal wounds, as a sudorfic and to control cramps. In folk medicine, furthermore, the plant has been used for jaundice, apparently based on sympathetic magic, since the flower’s colour is yellow.
