History
Praised by the authors of ancient medical books as a treatment for a number of diseases. The name “salvia” originates from the Latin “salvo”, that is “cure” or “restore”. The Benedictine monks brought the plant to the North, where, in the middle ages, it was used for fever, trembling hands, pangs in the sides, boils, asthma and much more - also as an aphrodisiac.
