History

Formerly played an important roll as a medication. In antiquity it was used for menstruation difficulties, dysentery and much more. In the Middle Ages it was also used for hysteria. The plant was also know as a magic herb, and the root was used as an amulet with approximately the same effect as the rare and expensive mandrake root.
