History

Was formerly highly valued by doctors. It was used internally for eye infection, infection of the female sex organs, dropsy and jaundice. Externally for scurvy, scabies, freckles, ringworm, boils and warts. Because of its yellow sap it was an ingredient in witches’ ointments.
