History

Mentioned as far back as antiquity in medical books. It has been used for headache, cramps, epilepsy, snake bite and much more. In 795 Louis the Pious ordered that rue should be in all French cloister gardens and that munks and nuns should eat it every day so that they “could live celibate”.
