History

A Nordic plant that, as far back as antiquity, has been used as a kitchen herb, undoubtedly very important as a vitamin source. In the Middle Ages the plant was used for a large number of diseases. It was considered to be a sudorfic, strengthen nerves and stomach and the mere chewing of the root protected against plague.
